Dear Friends,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing because I have some news to share and I want you to be among the first to hear. I have made the decision to run for State Senator from Missouri’s 11th Senatorial District. The election is only a year and a half way, I am ready to start communicating my message of “Standing up for common sense accountability” to the voters.
This seat has been admirably filled by our Senator Victor Callahan since 2003. Due to term-limits, he will be leaving this position at the end of 2012. This is a loss for our community because I believe now more then ever we need public officials who will stand up for us. As your next state senator, I will continue Senator Callahan’s tradition of standing up for education, working families, and accountability in government.
Over the past decade in public service I have championed the cause of public education, introduced government accountability measures, and increased constituent outreach. I am confident that when we effectively communicate my commitment, experience, and message to the voters of the 11th Senatorial District, I will win this election.
I know that running for a State Senatorial seat is a large undertaking – it will take a lot of time, energy and money to run a successful campaign. With the election twenty months away, I am campaigning to win. I am asking for your early assistance.
I also know that there are many who oppose common sense accountability in our government. These opponents will do anything to stop our efforts. Our detractors should be aware that this campaign will be prepared to stop any negative tactics by clearly communicating the truth to the voters of Eastern Jackson County. I am going to need your help to be prepared.
